The Tamworth Two

about

The Tamworth Two were a pair of pigs who escaped whilst being unloaded from the lorry taking them to the slaughterhouse in the late '90s. They went on the run, swam across the river Avon & became an international news sensation.

25 years on from their daring adventure, I wrote this song for them.

lyrics

Feels like the last chance never quite can be sure
Just make a sign and we'll bolt like never before
Nothing like that outside air
I wonder what we'll find out there

We'll find our way now
Me and my sister
We'll find our way now
We'll be crossing that river

Don't look behind you just keep running straight ahead
They tried to cage us but we'll find a new place instead
Nothing like that deep blue sky
Never guessed that one day we might fly

We'll find our way now
Me and my sister
We'll find our way now
We'll be crossing that river

I just know that we gotta go
If we're ever gonna survive
So we'll keep on running 'til the day turns into the night

We'll find our way now
Me and my sister
We'll find our way now
We'll be crossing that river
